WEEKEND ROUND-UP
On Saturday the 1st team hosted current league leaders Christchurch at Barlow's Park and both teams fought out a competitive and very entertaining 0-0 draw. We posed a far greater goal threat on the day and due to a combination of good defending and excellent goalkeeping resulted in us having to settle for a point - I think our visitors would agree that they were happy to leave with a share of the points. The only downside in an excellent team performance was the sending off of midfielder Scott Kinge after he received his second yellow five minutes from the end. Next up we travel to local rivals Whitchurch United on Wednesday 20th December in a re-arranged league match.
The Reserves made the long journey to face Newport (IoW) an Saturday in a crucial league encounter, but unfortunately lost out by
3-0. Next up they host AFC Stoneham on Saturday 23rd December at Barlow's Park - the last football prior to Christmas.
Unfortunately our A side's match with Bounty United fell victim to the weather on Saturday. They now look forward to the Festive break.
