Weekly Round Up
The Tadley Calleva First-Team started the week in cup action travelling to Stoneham, competing in the Hampshire Senior Cup. Tadley went into half time with a two goal deficit but managed to peg it back, the goals coming from Cameron George and Andrew Charsley to send the game to penalties. The away team ran out winners after a long shootout, the score finishing 7-8. The second game of the week for the first team saw Tadley travel down to the New Forest to face Bashley, but we didn't have the same fortunes as on Tuesday night. The home side ran out four-nil winners and were full value for their victory.
As for the Reserves, they faced a tough test at home to Baffins Milton Rovers Reserves but came through it with flying colours. Tadley went into half time with a four-one lead, Johnie Gurney, Jordan Holmes and Brad Quattromini (two) grabbing the goals. The game finished four-three, with Baffins pulling back a couple of goals in the second period, but Chris Hollis was happy to get two wins from two to start off the league campaign.
The A team were in action on Tuesday away to Bramley with Bradley Nash's team running out two-one winners. But, the U21's team game was cancelled, that was due to be played on Sunday, against Hook as our side had many players unavailable due to various other commitments.
Looking ahead to the coming week, the A team are at home to Englefied in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the start of the campaign on Saturday. The First-Team are also in action tomorrow night with Danny Dolan's side facing Sholing in the Wessex Division League Cup. They are also playing on Saturday facing Ascot United in the FA Vase, a competition Tadley will be hoping to progress in. The Reserves will be looking to put on a good display at the weekend facing Baffins Milton Rovers again but this time away, with Baffins looking to avenge the defeat they suffered a week prior. The season also kicks off for the U21's and A team. The 21's face Wilderbeest at home on Sunday morning whilst the A team face Berg at home on the Saturday.
