MATCH REPORT | Baffins Milton Rovers vs Tadley Calleva
Tadley Calleva made the trip to Baffins Milton Rovers on Saturday after a fantastic 5-1 win in the North Hampshire Senior Cup. However, things didn’t start well as after 2 minutes Baffins took the lead. Ashton Leigh took a free kick from just outside the Tadley 18-yard box and his shot beat the wall nestling in the bottom right hand corner. Then, to make matters worse, Cornish headed in from a free kick only two minutes later. Tadley found themselves 2-0 down after only 4 minutes.
The first chance for Tadley came after 30 minutes as Dallimore’s long ball found Sam Hamilton. Hamilton let fly from 20 yards but his shot was well wide. The first half was very quiet regarding chances and the first half ended with Baffins Milton Rovers leading 2-0.
The second half nearly started the same as the first half as Baffins won a free kick on the left hand side. Leigh crossed into Cornish but the header flew over the bar. Ten minutes into the second half, Dallimore found Hamilton once again with a long ball over the top of Baffins’s defence. Hamilton settled himself before smashing the ball past Scott who couldn’t get anywhere near the shot. Tadley were back in the game and the team believed they could get another.
They didn’t have to wait long as only two minutes later, Dallimore equalised for Danny Dolan’s side. His header managed to find its way through a number of players before hitting the back of the net. On the 70thminute mark, Denham held the ball up well and found Hamilton with a nice lay off. Alliston made a run around Hamilton and was slid in by the latter. Adam Alliston released his shot early but Scott was down well to stop the ball.
Danny Vickers had a chance at the edge of the area but his effort just went wide. In the 89thminute, a long throw from Pettit caused trouble for Baffins who could only clear as far as Hamilton on the edge of the area. Hamilton struck the ball well with plenty of power but it went well over the bar. The game finished 2-2 and after a disastrous start, Tadley got a brilliant point from the game.
