Gilkes join's coaching staff
Tadley Calleva Football Club are delighted to announce that Harrison Gilkes has joined the clubs coaching staff. Gilkes, who is currently a UEFA A Licence candidate, will be appointed as first team coach to work alongside Adam Clark and John Mcfarlane.
‘Gilkesy’ is a former professional footballer who has had experience with AFC Bournemouth, Basingstoke Town and Slough Town, to name a few. While his career was cut devastatingly short through serious injury, he is now eager to continue his football career, from the dugout.
Gilkes said, “I have known Adam and Macca for a number of years now and I’ve always been interested in their approach to the game. We share similar views on how we see our teams playing and I’m delighted to be able to contribute to this new project. Upon initial discussions, it was clear that the plans for Tadley Calleva were exciting and something I wanted to be part of. I’m looking forward to adding value within the coaching staff and assist this good group of players”.
First team manager Adam Clark, was delighted to secure the services of Gilkes. “John and I discussed a couple of options in regards to strengthening our staff and when we discussed what Harrison could bring to the table, it was a very easy decision. Harrison’s CV speaks for itself and the way he conducts himself, is exactly what we’re looking for. I for one am looking forward to working with Harrison and utilising his knowledge”.
This news is hot off the heels of the recent appointment of director, Simon Hood. The club have been working tirelessly behind the scenes and will have some player announcements shortly.
