Looking Ahead: Calne Town in the FA Vase

Tadley resume the road to Wembley tomorrow with a visit to Hellenic League Division 1 side Calne Town FC.

Our hosts tomorrow have had a mixed start to the season sitting 9th in the table overall. Calne Town have been picking up form in recent weeks however and sit 4th in the form table. This has been helped with goals from danger man Joshua Bright who has netted 5 in 9 games so far this season.

With 5 wins from 6, Tadley are going into their 6th 2nd qualifying round fixture in as many years full of confidence and belief in reaching the 1st round proper in the coming months.

Still reeling from a 2-4 away win over Guildford City last weekend, Tadley will look to get out of blocks quickly once more and assert dominance in the tie.

Any fixture in a national FA competition is special for the club. However, tomorrow could be an extra special occasion with club legend Brett Denham sitting on 249 goals for Tadley in all competitions.

We caught up with Brett this week to find out how he is feeling ahead of the game and the prospect of hitting the huge milestone of 250 goals for the club.

'I've alwayas kept tally's of my goals from a young age and know where the milestones are. My aim this season was to reach 250 goals. When achieved, it is something i'll always be proud of. Both the record and to do it for this Football Club'

Brett admitted that his goals have slowed down after the 200 mark but after building a decent partnership with Wrighty (Ben Wright) he is starting to get back to the levels we all know Brett for.

On scoring the 250th in the FA Vase, Brett told us, 'As much as i always love scoring and a FA Vase goal is a rarity, it would be good to get the 250 tomorrow and kick start a good cup run' 'We haven't had one for a few years now and with the growing attendances, we feel the support can get us there'

Kick off is at 15:00 at Bremhill View, SN11 9EE

Supporters coach will leave Barlows Park at 11:00 and is £10 per person.
