Pre-Season Schedule Preview
Tadley-Calleva have announced a busy pre-season schedule in preparation for the 2023/24 Combined Counties Premier South league season.
With nine fixtures scheduled over June and July, Tadders will look to bolster the first team squad and prepare well, with the target of a top five finish, which will see them compete in the play-offs come April 2024.
Yateley United – Home (The Vyne) – 24.6.23
Yateley United achieved promotion to step 6 with an unbeaten season in the Thames Valley Premier League. Stepping up to Combined Counties Division one, Yateley will prove an interesting prospect with just seven days of pre season training under the belt.
Amesbury Town – Away – 1.7.23
Manageress Amesbury Town will be looking to rebuild this Pre-Season after relegation to step 7. We could see this fixture as an experiment for both sides as trailing players look to cement their place in respective squads for the new campaign.
Overton United – Away – 4.7.23
Familiar faces will be on show as Tadley travel down the road to Overton, who are likely to play at Step eight next season, along with Tadley-Calleva’s reserve team.
It is yet to be known whether the current structure at Overton will remain so another fixture against a club looking to rebuild could be on the cards.
Rising Ballers Kensington – Away – 8.7.23
Rising Ballers is a UK digital platform providing a space for up and coming footballers in the UK. One of their four grassroots teams compete in the Combined Counties Division one and finished just six points off the play off places.
A tough Pre-Season test with opposition looking to catch the eye.
Eversley & California – Away – 15.7.23
Mid-table in Combined Counties Division one last season, The Boars will host Tadders half way through Tadley’s Pre-Season schedule.
Eversley, looking to progress again this year and reach the play offs will be looking to prove themselves against Step 5 Tadley-Calleva.
Berks County – Home (The Vyne) – 18.7.23
Losing in the semi-final of the play-offs to Langley last season, Berks County have now found their home for the next two years at Ascot United’s racecourse ground and will most definitely progress through next season with intent to emulate their landlords successes.
The Swords manager, Ellis Wood stated he is excited at the prospect of facing a strong Tadley-Calleva side as he makes his own preparations for a successful season.
Cove FC – Away – 22.7.23
Joint managers Joe Lawler and Ben Dillon will return to their former employers just weeks before the start of the season as Step 6 Cove welcome Tadley-Calleva to Oak Farm.
The timing of this fixture may give Tadley supporters more of an idea on how their side will lineup for the 2023/24 campaign.
AFC Stoneham – Away – 25.7.23
One of the early season favourites for the Wessex Premier League title will provide the toughest of tests for Tadley this Pre-Season. AFC Stoneham were involved in a promotion race that went down to the final minutes on the last day of the 2022/23 season and may well feel aggrieved to still be playing at Step 5.
The hosts will have no doubt bolstered their squad by this point in the Pre-Season schedule and travelling fans will most certainly see a highly competitive game of football.
Ash United – Away – 29.7.23
An eleventh hour reprieve has seen Ash United secure Step 6 football for another season, albeit with a new management structure.
Ash United know that another season like last may see them drop into a county division and, subsequently, no doubt will be looking to add further quality to their squad.
All fixtures are subject to change and timings will be released nearer the time. Keep an eye on Tadley-Calleva social media channels for all further information.
